Cher shares his experience with D.I.D. (aka Multiple Personality Disorder, split personalities, multiplicity). This disorder is a result of early childhood trauma of which he had lots of: (TW) an emotionally and physically abusive step-father, a homophobic/transphobic father and a doctor mother who didn't believe in medication or mental-illness. Everyone has heard of D.I.D. from the media, but now we have a chance to hear first hand what it's like to live with it.
Cher tells us about the various "alters" (alternate personalities) he had in earlier years. Cher and I also talk about coping with trauma and PTSD, being trans, shame spirals, (TW) suicide attempts, anxiety and depression, medication, therapy, being bullied, being misgendered as a child, and SO much more.
Thanks for listening!
